Deep Theta (4.9hz) with mbira - Heart Centered Introspection and Meditation
For this binaural beat I used a low Theta frequency of 4.9hz, which is meant to entrain the listener's brainwaves to a Theta state to induce a state of relaxation, meditation, and deep sleep. On top of that, I layered recordings of ocean waves, birds, and a piece that recently came to me on the mbira. I kept the recording unedited to retain the rawness of a live field recording. The mbira is a sacred musical instrument played by the Shona people of Zimbabwe, which through melodic and rhythmic entrainment, puts one into a state of meditative trance and heart centered awareness. More information on how they mbira is played for healing can be found here.
Listening Instructions: Listen to this binaural beat with headphones only for the full 20 minutes uninterrupted to get the proper effect. Sit or lay in a relaxed position, and give the sounds and tones your full attention. When thoughts arise, acknowledge them as only "thinking", and let them go, bringing your focus back to the sounds and tones. The quieting of discursive thoughts creates space for true natural intelligence and insight to come in, beyond the internal gossip and conditioning that normally occupies the mind.
